TV- It comes in all...

TV- It comes in all shape´s and size´s, most of you have one or maybe two, in color I assume, and it entertain you.
But No ,when you look close, there is no entertainment or information spreading ,it´s only messing with your head.
Putting tones of picture´s and sound´s in your consciousness, and you don´t even know it, and then people are projecting these picture´s on their perception of reality comparing their all-day situations with all these picture´s ,and that´s one of the way´s how we decrease the norms of normality and understanding,so people can´t be different and different people will be and are under pressure by the norms of normality ,what direct us toward society in witch everybody are the same, indigo copies or quiet obedient worker who is working form 8 till 17 ,then go home tired, sit in front of TV and find comfort watching some Hollywood/American dream *hit, and i will quote George Carlin who said a beautiful sentence about American dream:"You have to be asleep to believe it." ,and yes there are people sleeping with their eyes open, staring in that *bleeping* box ,for witch they have to pay, pay to be brainwashed, beautiful. And yes ,there are some good *hit happening in that box, but 99% of that is total mind *bleeping*...
PS. I don´t watch it ,I masturbate,on my own imagination, try if you still have one :)

Thoughts on Glenn Beck Rally

Okay so normally I...

Okay so normally I wouldn't be the type to stir controversy over such a seemingly positive event, but today I feel inclined to do so. Now I know that I may be one of the few people here who leans more to the left on these issues but I would like to think that my opinions are still relevant to you.

First I'd like you to take a look at this :

I would like to say that SOME of these statements I agree with, like the woman speaking around 2:45 for instance. Or the honering of our military. This was a religious rally, I have no question about that. I have a problem with the contradicitions that were present: ( from the video) " All religions coming together as one voice.... just to let the government know that we're united even though we have different religions we're united as one people to change what the governement is doing and not representing us." How inspiring... and completely untrue. Start at 2:06 when this man is asked if other religions had a place at this rally: " Ahh judaism, the bible was written by Jews." and what about Islam? " Islam just doesn't factor in. It just doesn't factor in. They are here to kill us. If you are a good muslim you will kill christians."
I don't like this. Granted, there are a lot of things in this world not to like but my God. I cant stand this Christian advancement disguised as a rally of spiritual awakening. I may be young but I can see just as well as anyone who has a lick of sense that this is suspicious. Also for the second time I'd like to point out that these negative views of Islam that are being spread by the fear mongers aren't as accurate as everyone is believing them to be. I know muslims and they are good people. they don't seek to behead me or stone me or any of the nonsense that people assume muslims are all about. Not all muslims are out to destroy the world and your precious values. You know what will really bring change to this country? Tolerance. The one thing that no one seems to have. Like the leaders of this rally said: If you want change, first change yourself. Change what is important. remove your hatred. How about some real change? please respond to this. I don't feel like being ignored today.

So, what do y'all think?...

So, what do y'all think? This guy was obviously a nutcase, but definitely had the right base ideas. Too bad he blew it and went crazy.
For those of you yet to hear, an unidentified Asian man (now known as James Lee) entered the discovery channel building in Silverspring MD armed and sporting several metallic cans strapped to his chest. His list of demands can be found here ( http://savetheplanetprotest.com/ ), which is actually his personal site. Among his demands are a quite a few wild accusations, most of which I agree with. Although he crossed the moral line he, can't be the only one who feels this way.
At first I thought it was a terrorist attack because today is 9/1/10, but I heard bits and pieces about it all day at work. He was shot and killed around 5 pm by police and no hostages or bystanders were hurt. Quite an odd occurrence.

Top 5 sitcoms?

I'd thought there would...

I'd thought there would be a thread like this but I couldn't find it using the "Search" function. I love sitcoms because they are so good at relieving stress and tension, and even alleviating physical strains. As they say, "laughter is the best medicine." :D

Anyways, from the top, mine would rank like this:

1) F.R.I.E.N.D.S --> about a group of best friends who go through thick and thin together and form complicated inter-relationships with each other, which can make the sitcom seem serious at times. Seriously, if you miss out on this motherload, you can't call yourself a sitcom fan

2) How I Met your Mother --> I'm not done with this yet, but it packs a wallop of hilarity

3) My Wife & Kids --> he who doesn't find this typical-family comedy worth a laugh surely doesn't have a sense of humor

4) Mind Your Language --> consists of very mild, stereotypical but harmless racist jokes; the humor lies in its transparent albeit truthful exaggeration

5) According to Jim --> first sitcom I'd ever watched, it revolves around the life of a married couple and their relatives. They do the funnily lamest things. :p

The title itself is...

The title itself is pretty self-explanatory. Ranging from music to cartoons to fashion, per se, are you a fervent lover of the classics or a hardcore modern entertainment person? This question is really the bulk of this thread, and I know it's a long post hereafter, so if you wanna skip the rest of it and proceed straight to answering, then by all means vested in me, I say go on. :thumbs up:

I grew up watching Walt Disney's miraculous and wondrous works, Looney Tunes and other such animation along that timeline. What I thought was an out-grown desire to watch cartoons was actually an underlying subconscious refusal to watch the monotonous and ludicrous garbage, that is either too infused with stardom or critically repressed, portrayed by the rigid media today. Dunno about you, but I miss good ol' Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Porky, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry and the rest of the gang. In retrospect, at least they had good, intelligent and liberal humor. So I suppose I'm still an avid watcher of cartoons and I'm not ashamed to admit it! :thumbs up::popcorn:

As for movies, they aren't unlikely to fall in similar perspectives. I think Bambi, Cinderella, Aladdin were all legends of their own time, as opposed to their subsequent counterparts today.

Then again, there are certain exceptions, I do find Japanese animation, fusing mature themes with realistic depths and ever-intertwining plots coupled with contemporary graphics, a great time-filler that may, otherwise, possibly keep one on the edge. The movies accredited high ratings today arguably deserve their well-earned fame as well. The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Avatar and SALT are prime examples of movies that exemplify the perks of contemporary media. I would include emotional films, like Marley and Me, Hachinko, and The Time Traveler's Wife, but that's probably relative.

Fashion is overrated, yes, but I believe nothing is overrated without a good reason. I've had tattoos, piercings, shoulder-length-emo hair and garments that would exceed even some of your wildest imagination ;). Now I'm just a regular-lookin' guy sticking to clubbing and shopping-mall-clothes. I would absolutely love to try out some medieval english clothes though, like the fancy ones you see in films that they wear to balls, or maybe even try out a king's majestic robe and cape.

Music is a bit tougher to determine. I just go for anything that is nice to my ears. My favourite genres are melodic rock, pop, j-pop/rock, maybe a bit of R&B here and there. Occasionally, the sweet chimes, the complementary notes and enchantingly subtle but uninterrupted flow of classical music (I really love Pachelbel's Canon) provide a soothing relief from the world's hard knocks. Opera of any kind or jazz are big no-no's for me though. I do like listening to classical romance hits, so if your playlist has Savage Garden, Glen Medeiros or Robbie Williams, hook me up. ^_^ Christian songs vary in intensity and dates too, the ones by Hillsong emit a modern feel and adolescent intensity. Basically, I feel music has to be able to come on emotionally strong and be able to convey feelings identical to one's own, for it to be a hit with people.

Am I missing out anything else - interior design preferences perhaps? I hope this isn't mistaken for an introduction thread.

The homosexual agenda and the beating of a dead horse

So for anyone who has...

So for anyone who has been following the annihilation of Prop 8 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...-marriage.html and the inevitable panic attack that followed, you know that this is only a stepping stone to the completion of THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA. Hide your children. Lock up your wives. They will not stop until everyone is gay married.

In all seriousness I must say that I find the views on the alleged " Homosexual Agenda" to be more humorous than anything else. I present to you a lovely snippet from our blessed contributors down at Conservapedia http://conservapedia.com/Homosexual_Agenda:

"Joseph P. Gudel, in That Which is Unnatural contended that the homosexual movement, has been militantly demanding not just the homosexuals' right to do whatever they wish to do behind closed doors, but, more importantly, that society fully accept their lifestyle as both healthy and normal, even demanding special rights and legislation as an "oppressed minority."( <-- why is that in quotes? it's a fact) Gudel quotes various sources evidencing this. "

Accept them, eh? That's hogwash. where does this guy think we live, America? Homosexiality ain't what jeezus lykes.

Next:

Focus on the Family provides additional quotes from After the Ball, outlining key points of the homosexual agenda:

1. "Talk about gays and gayness as loudly and as often as possible."
2. "Portray gays as victims, not as aggressive challengers."
3. "Give homosexual protectors a just cause."
4. "Make gays look good."
5. "Make the victimizers (<---Key word) look bad."
6. "Get funds from corporate America." Really? Do I even have explain what is wrong with this statement?

1. For shame gay people. How dare you talk about a key factor of your lives around other people? this is not a democracy, you have no rights here.

2. Those gays sure had me fooled. all that beating, killing, and bashing of homosexuals was just a preemptive strike for the inevitable choreographed dance fight that they were going to unleash upon the church... Anyways this kind of unintentionally turned into a rant, but I would like to get your opinion on this " Homosexual Agenda" and the hindrance it is causing to the basic/civil rights of homosexuals.

Lastly, a word from NOM:

Did humans and dinosaurs ever coexist?

Most people believe that...

Most people believe that dinosaurs became extinct millions of years before there were any humans but there is some evidence that this belief is false.

Nearly all cultures have stories of dragons. The descriptions of these beasts resemble those of dinosaurs.
Evolutionist Adrienne Mayor spent considerable time researching the possibility that Native Americans dug up diniosaur fossils. But some of the reports she received make a lot more sense if these early Americans interacted with actual dinosaurs, not yet extinct. An old Assiniboine story tells of a war party that "traveled a long distance to unfamiliar lands and [saw] some large lizards. The warriors held a council and discussed what they knew about those strange creatures. They decided that those big lizards were bad medicine and should be left alone. However, one warrior who wanted more war honors said that he was not afraid of those animals and would kill one. He took his lance [a very old weapon used before horses] and charged one of the large lizard type animals and tried to kill it. But he had trouble sticking his lance in the creature's hide and during the battle he himself was killed and eaten." Mayor, Fossil Legends of the First Americans, 2005, p. 294.) This story conjures up credible visions of the scaly hide of a great reptile, something Native Americans would not know from mere skeletons. It was once thought that Woolly Mammoths had flourished in North America prior to the arrival of humans. But the discovery of sites where many mammoths were killed and butchered has established the co-existence of men and mammoths. Perhaps similar evidence involving dinosaurs will be forthcoming.

The atheistic astronomer Carl Sagan once remarked: "The pervasiveness of dragon myths in the folk legends of many cultures is probably no accident" (Sagan, Carl, The Dragons of Eden, New York: Random House, 1977, p. 149). Indeed he felt compelled to address the similarity to the great reptiles of the Jurassic era and "explain them away." How could Sagan do this? Peter Dickinson stated, "Carl Sagan tried to account for the spread and consistency of dragon legends by saying that they are fossil memories of the time of the dinosaurs, come down to us through a general mammalian memory inherited from the early mammals, our ancestors, who had to compete with the great predatory lizards." (Dickinson, Peter, The Flight of Dragons, New York: Harper and Row, 1979, p. 127). Thus Carl Sagan believed that we evolved not merely our physical bodies, but also memories "uploaded" from our mammalian ancestors!
http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/history/history.htm

There are also ancient pictures of animals that resemble dinosaurs. How could the people who made them have know what dinosaurs looked like unless they had actually seen them?

http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/ancient/ancient.htm

In fact it is possible that we still coexist and they haven't all died off:

http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/b...h/behemoth.htm

http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/plesio/plesio.htm

If there are still dinosaurs this wouldn't be the first time a species believed to be extinct for millions of years has been found to be still alive:

Uh-hrmm! Since we have a "how did you pick your user name" thread, I couldn't help but be completely (and I'm talking about earth go KA-BOOM scale of 'completely') unable to make sense of why it would be logical not to have a thread depicting the essence of one's avatar and user title too. :D Of course, your avatar and user title may be connected in some way or they may be totally born from different reasons.

So for starters, I'm happy because I can finally customize my profile. :D:D:D My avatar is a tad weeny but due to lack of a better discovery. Anyway, there's this teenager with blonde hair and shades at the right side having a puff, decked in a kickass-lookin' black coat. Oh yeah, and he's smiling, as if he's not wrong to be there, doing that.

It sort of is the pictorial version of my user title. As a young adult with youthful ideas, teenage is still boiling hot in my blood to be insolent and go against others, and I would count my ego as higher than average. But more often than not, I base my ego on confident reason than on ignorant arrogance, thus "Rightfully Insolent". Oh dear, I must sound awfully self-centred and conceited, and contemptuous now. >_>

P.S. Mods, if a thread like this has been created already, I must have missed it.:rolleyes:

The seeds of disasters and how they are planted

I'm sure none of us are...

I'm sure none of us are new faces to disasters bearing names like hurricanes, floods, droughts, wildfires, famines, et cetera, so let's talk about what the big hoo-haa is behind the alleged natural disasters striking Mother Earth. I'm no expert on this and science isn't my forte so I hope I won't get my chemical equations wrong or be taken in by false albeit persuasive theories.

I'm not only initiating this thread for debates, but I truly do want to know what the real behind-the-scenes situation is. For example, some people advocate that global warming is a high-ranker in causing environmental desvastation while others may shake it off as a harmless daily occurence. I'm sitting on the fence.

Of course, I didn't start this thread ignorantly, recent newspaper articles, such as "Global warming will create havoc in region, say scientists" and "La Nina expected this year", have generated a rough draft in my head:

Global warming, notoriously attributed to industrial output, has been scientifically analyzed and traced to factory chemicals, which mix in with the already hectic atmosphere and cause torrential storms. The release of chemicals into the sea has also deteriorated the balance of marine temperatures, implicitly inducing and prolonging more "moody weather swings" of destructive proportions.

La Nina, sister of El Nino, is a phenomenon in which water "spawns" colder-than-normal temperatures. Alas I still have no clue how they come about but it's as though the two and and global warming are partners in crime - the crime being to leave countries in desolated and decrepit conditions in their trails. Miniscule countries, like Singapore, which had always boasted about being 'disaster-safe' and unaffected by the seasons, have also been hit with unnatural and appalling floods, due to squalls in Indonesia.

I don't desire to turn this into a religious thread, but I understand that there are related verses in the bible, so if you think these denote biblical symptoms, just raise it up, but I require a logical premise or proof if you do. This criterion also goes for those who may slam the blame on man or nature, or if you think all of the previously mentioned are associated together somewhat. Perhaps you may even harbour some form of complex reasoning that they are contingently independent of one another. As long as they can be logically justified, anything goes. :D Yes, it's an articulate way of pulling off a blame game here, dressed in "common sense and uncommon courtesy", no less. I challenge you to try to make an affirmative and unanimously supported stand, if you can. ;)
