Post Inappropiate Laughter

I am a person who loves to laugh. But more and more I find myself laughing during very inappropiate situations. For example I recently was at a funeral of my friend who died very untimely at age 18. It was quiet and I just started laughing. Loudly. While everyone was praying. I have no idea why or where it came from but I just could not stop. Everyone turned to look at me laughing. I felt so bad I could have just killed myself. But I'm not the only one who does this. My friend Tiffany laughs inappropiately as well.

Another example is when my teacher talked about her friend committing suicide after murdering her children. We both laughed inappropriately for some reason. I was feeling sad about her story but I laughed. Now most of my friends call me "dark & twisty"; a Grey's Anatomy reference. I maybe "dark & twisty" but I wouldn't purposely laugh at a person's death or suicide. So I dint know what's up with that but it is weird, and I don't know how to control it.

Oh I don't think it is because you are dark & twisted. It could simply be involuntary reactions in certain situations instead of crying or getting to stressed out and upset. The most common of this in which we hear is when people get nervous they laugh involuntarily.

I found myself laughing at an inappropriate time with no defense. I was attending my wife's grandfathers funeral. Her family is catholic. In the middle of the funeral the priest, out of no where, started speaking in Latin in a voice that reminds me of Chevy Chase. It caught me completely off guard. They should have some sort of warning before doing things like that.

I can have this problem in church, possibly because I do not believe in organized religion and it all seems so story book to me.

But a funeral? That must have been awkward.

I always laugh when I am very mad or upset. I think it relieves my tension.

It also happens to make me look like a lunatic also.

People tend to laugh at things that make them feel nervous.
