At what times is it appropriate to offer to go dutch and pay half? Or just request 2 separate checks? Ever, or just when the date is awful and the date should end asap?
I say, it depends own who asked who out to the dinner. If I asked a person, of course, it is presumed that I should pay, and vice-versa, regardless of gender. Plus, 21st century women want to be more INDEPENDENT lol so let them pay! I'd never turn down a free meal!

I feel it should mostly depend on who invited who, and who picked the resturant. I would be pissed if I ask a girl where she wants to eat, she settles on Red Lobster, and expects me to totally pay for an outrageous dinner outside my price range. I would assume if she wanted to eat there she could go dutch.

LOL! hey fountg, . Thanks for posting up.

That is really nice of you if you do ask where your date would like to eat. And I understand where you are coming from. But wouldn't it then just be best to give her a choice of your suggestions that would suit your price range if you were the one who initiated the invitation? Thus avoiding any surprises with the dinner bill and sorting out who will pay for what?

Summary:
1. I am not allowed to date anymore.

2. The person making the invitation pays, unless
a. The man pays.
b. The woman pays thereby breaking off any future relationship.
c. All couples have an inalienable right to dinner, so the government pays.
3. The man pays until after marriage, then it doesn't matter.

Did I miss any? Maybe we should just go for coffee. No sense wasting all that money on human companionship.
