Thumbs up The Kite Runner

I watched this OnDemand and despite it only having 2 stars I found it engaging. Based on the novel of the same name, it's about an Afghani immigrant who has to return to Taliban controlled territory to find the son of a now dead boyhood friend. A good look at a different culture both here in the US and over there though the book has been accused of being too anti-Taliban.

If you're looking for something different, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

The Kite Runner

Default The Felon

Anyone ever see The Felon? I recently watched it and I give it high marks.

It is based on occurrences that took place out of California's Corcoran prison.
The story line itself is how an ordinary family man defends his family from an intruder that breaks into their home. While not meaning to actually kill him, he does. The catch is he kills the intruder outside his home in his front yard as the guy is running away. And well, the law states that is a big no no. And this guy winds up going to prison for murder. Everything that can go wrong, does. And lets just say the law is not on his side.

Made me check my home state laws again to see just where they are if it comes to me having to defend myself and home.
