The aftermath would be horrific. But it is inevitable. Any ideas on who will start it and when it will happen?
I see it going down as Mahmoud Achmedinejad (sp?) the modern day Hitler... North Korea is an empty threat, but I wouldn't discount the Iranians. |

You could argue that fundamental Islam is at war with much of the world. I am thankful we just got Mexicans and not Muslims invading.

The next war will probably be started by a thread in cyberspace. If anyone is smart they wouldn't want a war. The U.S. government officials have the heads so far up their *** they will do anything to make sure the enemy is obsolete.

I do not think that a world war is inevitable. It is avoidable if the free world wakes up and smells the coffee. For example, if we allow a sick dictator like Hugo Chavez to play sick games with the citizens of Venezuela (who are totally defenseless because Chavez controls every aspect of life and activity with Fidel Castro's technology) we are promoting a world war by expanding the strategic positions of the enemy. We are paying him to become our enemy and harbor terrorists, guerrillas, drug trafficking, and becoming the allies of Iran and company. So, one of the easy solutions would be to stop buying oil from him a couple of months, and see what happens.

Iran will build a nuclear weapon. Israel will bomb them. Russia will come to Iran's aid being that they already have a pact of alliance with them. We will defend Israel. Wala! World War III officially begins. The only question is which side China will be on. Given that we keep pissing them off in Taiwan, I don't think they care much for us right now.

Given the givens, the debt that we owe to the Chinese will be paid back in U.S. soldiers.

Ahmadinejad is not a tyrant and is not even the most powerful man in the current Iranian government. At most, human rights organizations would accuse Ahmadinejad of scarcely 100 deaths in Iran. 5,000,000 people have been killed in the Congo in the past decade and yet I don't see anyone accusing Congolese leaders of carrying out a holocaust. As for Iran's nuclear ambitions, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameni had ultimate authority over the nuclear programs. Mahmoud couldn't use a weapon against another country even if he wanted to. Iran has very limited resources to research nuclear technology, and has incentives to not go through with producing a weapon. On the other hand, Israel has dozens of nuclear weapons, Pakistan has nearly a hundred nuclear warheads, India has hundreds as well, and Russia has more nukes than we in the US do. If you really want to see where the next World War will spark, look at Pakistan and India, or North and South Korea. Iran is over rated as a danger to world peace.

Aren't we already in a world war, didn't Bush say that the war on terror was a world war?

I think the next wold war will be a war of resources mainly fresh water. People refer to oil as liquid gold, countries and systems have been invaded and manipulate just to acquire more of this resource when water starts to become scarce in first world countries then we will see a real war. No on can survive without fresh drinking water and countries will do anything to gain this resource.
